Lives transliterated

Lives transliterated

never perfect,
always slipping and twisted.
like our feet…
becoming (en)tangled
in…towards each other.
or our hearts…
almost perfectly patterned
two-wards one another,
but almost never quite.
see—that’s our gap.
ways that we know…
how things can be different,
yet still be the same………

Transfix’d and translated—
from one life
to the other.
always shifting and breaking,
until we’ll almost will match.

every tone like
but the heartbeats
and the song
are the same.

that’s when we’ll know
how things that are distant,
can still
be so very near,
almost—too near.

than what we thought…
was only pieces
and symbols…
of our own little selves.
